posted on the Library web site. Hours are extended during exam
periods.
How do I reserve a Collaborative
Room?
Groups of students who need to work
together on collaborative projects may reserve one of the Library’s
thirteen Collaborative Rooms. The policies governing these rooms are designed
to encourage appropriate,
equitable,
and full use of this valuable space.

How do I connect to Library databases from Home?
Connect to the Internet through your regular connection. Visit http://library.marist.edu .
When you first select a database, you will be asked to authenticate with
your Marist Account. Questions about Marist Accounts
are answered by the Marist
College Help Desk .
How do I find my reserve readings?
Search the Library
Catalog Course Reserves Section by instructor or course name. Note
down the Call Number and request the item at the Circulation Desk. You
will need your Marist ID to borrow the item.
How do I borrow books?
Search the Library
Catalog by author, title, keyword or subject heading. Present your
Marist ID at the Circulation Desk located at the entrance
of the Library. The loan period is 28 days with one 14-day
renewal. Overdue books incur fines at 25 cents per day.
How do I borrow Videos?
Search the Library
Catalog by keyword with the "Quick Limits" for
"Visual Materials" selected. For detailed instructions on searching
for videos see the Video Search Quick
Tutorial.
Most of the video collection is located on the first floor and circulates for 7 day periods. Videos used heavily for instruction are designated as "Limited Circulation Videos"; they are loaned for a 3-hour period and may not leave the Library. Students may request these videos at the Circulation Desk with a Marist ID and watch them in the AV viewing room.
"Circulating Videos" are designated in the catalog as "Location: Audio-visual - 1st Floor".

How do I pay an overdue fine?
Students who keep Library materials beyond the due date will receive
three overdue notices. There is a 7-day grace period, after which
fines accrue at 25 cents per item per day. Fines may be paid in
Student Accounts in Donnelly Hall, Room 208. Long overdue books may result
in borrowing privileges being revoked.
How do I borrow a laptop?
Students may borrow Library laptops at the Circulation Desk for a 3-hour period
with 1-hour renewal. Present your Marist ID plus a second photo ID such
as a valid driver's license. Students are responsible for the security
and safety of the laptop computer while it is in their possession.

Information FAQ. How do I connect my personal laptop in the
Library via ethernet?
Resnet ,
a part of Marist Information Technology, will help you connect
to the campus network. You can then access all the Library electronic
resources from your laptop anywhere on campus.

How do I
connect my perosnal laptop in Library via wireless?
Students can now access the Marist network and Internet from virtually
anywhere in the Library without having to plug-in an ethernet cord.
The machine
must
meet a few requirements before it is able to connect via the Marist
Airfox network. All that is needed is:
- An 802.11b compatible wireless
card (many newer laptops have this built-in)
- A Marist supported OS (Windows XP or Windows 2000)
- The Cisco Systems VPN Client (see below)
Once 1 and 2 are meet you will need to download the VPN client, students
must use the following link to download their specific client (k-account
