April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Sexual Assault Awareness Month is a time to increase awareness and learn more about sexual assault, strategize on prevention and safety measures, and uplift survivors.

A display of books on carts with the words Sexual Assault Awareness Month on the wall behind the carts. Features artwork, infographics, and poetry underneath the letters. We Believe You is on the right underneath the poetry

The library has a display up through the month of April highlighting information, resources, and survivor stories. These include materials, such as original artwork and a zine, from students who are survivors. We hope the display offers not only resources and information but also gives survivors a space to see their stories and experiences reflected, and, in doing so, helps them feel seen and supported.

The library is also hosting a Survivorship Zine Making Event on April 8th in collaboration with the Title IX office. Survivors, allies, and anyone else on campus can join! It’s a chance to create, share stories, and build community in a safe space. Along with this event, Title IX is hosting events throughout the month. You can keep an eye on what is happening on campus through their Instagram and webpage
