Library wrapped---Looking back at the past year in the library

Jimmy the Fox is smiling slightly in a cozy sweater. Above his head are the words Library Wrapped.

Congratulations on making it to the end of the semester. It was a jam packed year here at the library. Check out some of what we’ve been up to!

The library & archives said goodbye to 12 incredible work study students. We miss them!

Librarians visited & taught 290 classes, from workshops for FYS classes to tailored workshops for specific disciplines to library class visits, we were in the classroom a lot!

You all asked us & we answered 2175 questions in-person, through chat, by email, and over the phone! They ran the gamut from finding pleasure reading books to looking for sources to citation assistance to locating the bathroom. And you researched some super interesting topics, including scuba diving, the oldest book in the library, ghost stories, stingray migration, and so much more!

We ran 59 events, including the very popular Moby Dick Club, the biannual Citation Parties, Primal Screaming, Financial Literacy talks, Archives pop-ups, and zine making! We also saw you out and about as we tabled at orientations and on-campus events.

We created 19 displays, including ones for Black History Month, Will Eisner Week, International Education Week, and Nobel Prize Winners.

We made 130 social media posts! Check them out here.

Our library workers also attended multiple conferences, presented original research, published papers (and a research based zine!), led book clubs, and read a whole lot! It’s been a busy, but fun past year, and it wouldn’t have been all it was without you all!

See you in January!
