Moby Dick Club General Interest Meeting, September 17th
Ahoy!
This semester marks the start of Moby Dick Club, and year-long book club open to all members of the Marist community. Join us at the general interest meeting at 5:30 on Wednesday, September 17th in the Gartland Reading Room. Help us get an attendance count by registering ahead of time. Learn more about Moby Dick and Moby Dick Club.
Moby Dick can be viewed through many different lenses, offering insights into various aspects of human experience and societal issues. We plan to use six meeting times as an opportunity to explore the varied interpretations as well as related topics ranging from Hudson Valley history to mental health, philosophy, and biodiversity.
Our goals with Moby Dick Club are varied. We hope to foster a culture of reading and exploration. We also hope that members from all corners of the Marist community will join us on this adventure, creating an opportunity to create connections across disciplines and between students, faculty and staff outside of their normal dynamics. We hope to tap into the varied expertise in our community to add to this multi-faceted discussion. By supporting each other through this more challenging read, we can prove to ourselves that we can do hard things! And when we work together, we can have fun doing them.
See you at the club!
