February 5, 2025 — Sloop Brewing Co. and Marist University have partnered to launch a special brew: Red Fox IPA. This exciting partnership brings together two esteemed Hudson Valley institutions experiencing growing national appeal, tapping into the innovation and spirit that have defined generations of Marist Red Foxes and the craftsmanship and artistry of Sloop.

East Fishkill, NY-based Sloop set sail from a Poughkeepsie garage in 2011, founded by Adam Watson and second-generation brewer Justin Taylor. Named after the historic vessels that once cruised the Hudson River and perhaps best known for its flagship Juice Bomb IPA, Sloop first started selling beer at local farmer's markets and quickly became one of the nation’s fastest-growing breweries, now ranked among the top 100 in the country.

“We were born from humble origins and fueled by passion to craft a high-quality product,” said Taylor, Chief Product Officer of Sloop Brewing Co. “Marist is rooted in that same enterprising spirit going back to its founding nearly 100 years ago and that’s what attracted us to work with the university. It’s been impressive to watch Marist grow in national appeal and flourish with one of the most passionate alumni networks we’ve seen.”

Red Fox IPA exhibits many of the same qualities as Marist’s namesake mascot: bold, playful, and clever. Dry-hopped with a curated selection of Citra and Mosaic hops, hand-picked by Sloop’s brewmaster and Marist collaborators, Red Fox IPA pours hazy and golden, with notes of ripe berries on the nose and a citrusy, tropical finish on the palate.

Red Fox IPA is now available at the James J. McCann Arena during various Marist athletic events and is served at campus alumni functions and other special events. It is also available at Sloop’s East Fishkill tasting room and will soon be sold at numerous Hudson Valley restaurants, retailers, and bars.
