Marist Celebrates Most Successful Day of Giving Yet
March 31, 2026 — The Marist community came together in a powerful way for the University’s third annual Day of Giving, raising more than $1.5 million in support of the student experience and engaging a record number of donors.
Over a 24-hour period, Red Foxes showed up—fueling scholarships and athletics, expanding hands-on learning opportunities, strengthening academic programs, and enhancing the student experience across campus.
"This year’s Day of Giving reflects the strength of the Marist community and the momentum we’re building together," said Kirk Swenson Vice President for Advancement. "Seeing more donors than ever before step forward in support of our students is incredibly meaningful, and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we come together around a shared purpose."
The Red Fox community rallied to unlock a series of challenge gifts that amplified the impact of every contribution. Marist Athletics played a major role in the day’s success, raising $866,083—115% of its goal—from 2,218 donors, which includes $400,000 that was unlocked through 43 challenges.
Key opportunities to maximize gifts also included, the $266,000 Board of Trustees Challenge, along with notable participation milestones for parents, and critical matches supporting the Presidential Fund for Equity in the Marist Experience. Across campus, schools and programs—including the School of Science and the School of Communication and the Arts—also saw challenge goals reached, further expanding support for students.

On campus, the energy was unmistakable. Students gathered to support the effort, write letters of gratitude to donors, and celebrate as milestones were reached throughout the day—each one building on the last.
“This day is a powerful reflection of what makes Marist so special,” said Kristin Noto '91, member of the Marist University Board of Trustees. “The way this community shows up—year after year—to support students and invest in the future speaks volumes about the strength and spirit of Marist.”
That impact was felt firsthand by students across campus.
“Day of Giving is one of the most important days of philanthropy at Marist. For me, being on a scholarship and having the ability to travel abroad were made possible by donors," said Liz Jerger '26. "While I may not have realized this impact as a freshman, I definitely felt it starting sophomore year. Much of what Marist students are able to do is because of each and every donor, no matter the size of their gift.”
While the day itself may be over, the impact of this support will continue to shape the Marist experience for years to come. Check out all the results!
